To connect the luminaire to mains wiring, it is recommended to hire a qualified electrician who is familiar with IEE wiring regulations. They will ensure that the connection is done correctly and safely. Before starting any maintenance work or connecting the battery, make sure to isolate the luminaire from the power supply. Verify that the rated voltage and frequency requirements of the luminaire are compatible with the available mains supply. It is important not to carry out a high voltage insulation test, as it may damage internal components. The light source in the luminaire should only be replaced by the manufacturer, a designated service agent, or a suitably qualified person. If the batteries fail to meet the required duration, they should be replaced by a qualified electrician. Additionally, ensure that the ceiling is strong enough to support the luminaire, and use secondary suspension if necessary. Follow ESD precautions during installation and make sure all luminaires are properly earthed. Do not cover recessed luminaires with thermally insulating materials, and avoid using the wire suspension to raise or lower the luminaire.
