To connect the Clarke CHHDP830 High Head Draining Pump to a power source, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the pump is disconnected from the power supply before making any connections.
2. Check the power cable for any damage. If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced before use.
3. Connect the mains lead to a standard, 230 Volt (50Hz) electrical supply through an approved BS 1363 plug or a suitably fused isolator switch.
4. If the plug needs to be changed, follow the wiring instructions provided in the manual:
- The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal marked N or colored black.
- The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal marked L or colored red.
- The YELLOW AND GREEN wire must be connected to the terminal marked E or colored green.
5. It is recommended to use an approved Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of less than 30mA for added safety.
Please refer to the "Electrical Connections" section of the instruction manual for more detailed information and safety precautions.
