To properly insert a test strip into the ACCU-CHEK CA-1423 Glucose Meter, please follow these steps:
1. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before handling the test strip and meter.
2. Ensure that the test strip is not bent or damaged.
3. Open the cap of the meter and make sure it is tightly closed when finished.
4. There are four different techniques you can try to insert the test strip, depending on your preference and comfort level:
a. Technique 1: Place any finger on the front test strip and press in while sliding your finger up to raise it. Then, pull the strip out.
b. Technique 2: Grasp the sides of the outermost test strip with a pinching action as you pull it up.
c. Technique 3: Place your index finger on top of the test strips. Then, with your thumb, press in against the test strips and slide the front test strip up to pull it out in one motion.
d. Technique 4: Place your finger on the back test strip and press in against the test strips. Slide your finger up to raise it, then pull it out.
5. Once the test strip is inserted, the meter will automatically turn on and display a flashing blood drop symbol.
6. Apply a small drop of blood to the target area of the test strip.
7. The meter will count down from 5 to 1, indicating that it is processing the blood sample.
8. After a few seconds, your blood glucose result will be displayed on the meter's screen.
