Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions for updating the BIOS on your Altos Computing system running Linux:
1. Download the ΗAltos P130_F5 System BIOS (Version R01-A4 L).zip file and extract it into an external USB storage device.
2. Power on your system and enter the BIOS Setup Menu. This is usually done by pressing a specific key during the boot process, such as F2 or Del. Consult your system's manual for the exact key.
3. In the BIOS Setup Menu, navigate to the Security section and go to the Secure Boot page. Disable the "Secure Boot" option.
4. Go to the Advanced section and enable "CSM Support". This option may be found under different sub-menus depending on your system's BIOS version.
5. In the Advanced section, navigate to PCH-FW Configuration and then Fireware Update Configuration. Enable "Me FW Image Re-Flash" and disable "ME State".
6. Go to the Boot section and select "Boot Option #1" as "UEFI: Built-in EFI...". This option may also be labeled differently, but it should refer to the UEFI boot option.
7. Press F4 to save the changes, then select "Yes" and press Enter to confirm the BIOS update.
8. Wait for the system to boot into the embedded UEFI shell.
9. Check the location of your USB drive in the UEFI shell. You may need to change the path to the USB drive number, which is typically labeled as FSx.
10. Type "allows.nsh" or "altos.nsh" to start the BIOS update process.
11. After the BIOS update is complete, check for the "process completed" message.
12. If any errors occur during the update, please check the BIOS settings and repeat steps 3 through 11 again.
13. Shut down the system and remove the power cord. Wait for 30 seconds, then insert the power cord and power on the system.
14. Check if the system powers on normally.
Please note that BIOS updates should be performed with caution, as any interruption or error during the process can potentially cause system issues. It is recommended to backup important data before proceeding with the BIOS update.
