The self-watering galvanized seed starting tray is designed to provide a constant supply of water to the growing cells through the capillary mat. It is important to check the water level in the reservoir regularly and refill as required to ensure that the capillary mat remains damp at all times. If the mat dries out, thoroughly moisten it and water from above to re-establish the capillary flow. However, it is also important to avoid overwatering. If the seed-starting mix becomes too wet, empty the reservoir tray and allow the mix to dry for a day or two. Monitoring the moisture level and adjusting the watering accordingly will help ensure optimal growing conditions for your seeds.
