To remove the original caliper and install the Moto-Master MM210110 MXC Factory Racing Rear Caliper, please follow these steps:
1. Start by removing the adapter bolts that secure the original caliper.
2. If necessary, remove the cable tie and disconnect the plug-in connector.
3. Pull off the caliper-adapter combination from the mounting area.
4. Remove the R-clip, brake pad pin, and brake pads from the original caliper.
5. Separate the caliper from the adapter by pulling it off. Also, remove the banjo bolt and brake line.
6. Clean any brake fluid leakage immediately to prevent surface damage.
Next, prepare the Moto-Master caliper for installation:
1. Grease the slider pins with high vacuum grease.
2. Mount the Moto-Master caliper onto the adapter.
3. Place the new brake pad retainer clip inside the Moto-Master caliper.
4. Install the brake pads, brake pad pin, and R-clip.
5. Clean the adapter mount contact areas.
6. Position the caliper-adapter combination onto the front fork, and tighten the adapter bolts to 25 Nm with Loctite 243.
7. Install the brake line with new copper washers and the banjo bolt.
8. Reconnect the plug-in connector and secure it with a cable tie if necessary.
Please note that if you are not fully qualified in motorcycle maintenance, it is recommended to consult a certified dealer or professional mechanic. Moto-Master cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by incorrect product mounting or disregarding the instructions.
Once the caliper is installed, you will need to bleed the brake system with new brake fluid to remove any air. Use only DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 brake fluid for this process. Place the dust cap on the bleeder xxxx after bleeding.
Finally, lift the front wheel and operate the front brake repeatedly until you feel a clear pressure point. Check for proper engagement and release of the front brake, as well as proper alignment between the brake disc and caliper. After releasing the brake, the wheel should spin freely.
Please note that new brake pads and discs require bedding in. Avoid continuous or harsh brake actions during the bedding-in period to prevent reduced brake performance.
