To set up your ASUS RT-AXE7800 router, follow these steps:
1. Prepare your Modem:
- Unplug the power of your cable/DSL modem and remove the battery if it has one.
- Connect your modem to the WAN port at the back of the router using the provided network cable.
- Power on the modem by plugging it into a power outlet.
- Check the modem LED lights to ensure the connection is active.
Note: If you are using DSL for internet, you will need your username/password from your ISP to configure the router properly.
2. Install your Router:
- Plug the adapter into the DCIN port of the router and press the Power switch.
- The power LED will light up when the hardware is ready.
3. Set up via the ASUS Router App:
- On your iOS or Android device, go to the app store, search for "ASUS Router," and download the app.
- Tap Settings > Wi-Fi on your device and connect to the default network SSID shown on the product label or scan the QR code on the label.
- Launch the ASUS Router App and follow the instructions to complete the setup.
Alternatively, you can set up via a web browser:
- Connect your PC to one of the LAN ports at the back of the router using an additional network cable.
- Open a web browser and you will be redirected to the ASUS Setup Wizard. If not, navigate to http://router.asus.com.
- Follow the instructions in the Setup Wizard to complete the setup.
4. Setting up 1G Port WAN Type:
- Connect your modem to the WAN port (1G WAN/LAN1) of the router using a network cable.
- In the ASUS Setup Wizard, select "manual setting" and then choose "1G Ethernet."
- Follow the instructions to complete the setup of SSID and login information.
After following these setup steps, the router will reboot and start connecting to the internet through the WAN port. You can refer to the LED indicators in the manual to check the status of the connection.
