To attach the lens hood for the Leica APO-SUMMICRON-SL 1:2/50 ASPH, follow these steps:
1. Remove the lens cap from the lens.
2. Align one of the alignment points on the lens hood with the alignment point on the front mount of the lens.
3. Attach the lens hood to the lens by turning it clockwise until it audibly clicks into place. The lens hood should be securely attached.
4. The lens hood can be attached in reverse for more compact storage. Simply align the alignment points and turn the lens hood counterclockwise until it clicks into place.
The lens hood should remain attached to the lens as long as the camera is carried ready for use or is in use. It helps eliminate contrast-reducing stray light and protects the front lens against damage and soiling.
