To clean and maintain the John BOOS EFT8-3015 Stainless Steel Deep Flat Top Filler Table, follow these instructions:
1. Use the correct tools: Clean soft towels, clean sponges, and plastic scouring pads are recommended for cleaning. Do not use wire brushes, metal scrapers, or steel scouring pads as they can damage the stainless steel surface.
2. Use the recommended cleansers: Bar Keepers Friend, alkaline cleaners, alkaline chlorinated cleaners, and non-chloride containing cleansers are suitable for cleaning stainless steel. Do not use abrasive cleansers containing chlorides or quarternary salts. If you are unsure about the chloride content of your cleanser, contact the cleanser supplier for clarification.
3. Routine Cleaning: For routine cleaning, use soap, ammonia, or detergent with a cloth or sponge. This is suitable for removing general dirt and debris.
4. Smudges and Fingerprints: To remove smudges and fingerprints, use Arcal 20, Lac-O-Nu, or Ecoshine. These cleaners help to create a barrier film on the stainless steel surface. Apply the cleaner with a cloth or sponge and clean parallel to the polish lines.
5. Difficult Stains: For difficult stains, use cleaners like Cameo, Talc, or Zud First Impression. Clean parallel to the polish lines and adjust the amount of cleanser used until the stain is removed.
6. Oil and Grease: A good commercial detergent can be used to remove oil and grease. Apply the detergent with a cloth or sponge and wipe off the surface.
7. Food Grease and Burnt-On Foods: Use cleaners like Easy-Off, De-Grease It, or Oven Aid for food grease and burnt-on foods. These cleaners work well on all finishes.
8. Restoration and Passivation: For restoration and passivation, use Boos Block Stainless Steel Cleaner, Benefit, or Super Sheen. Follow the product directions for best results.
9. Removing Surface Corrosion, Oil, or Grease Build-Up: If there is surface corrosion, oil, or grease build-up, use the stainless steel care kit provided by John Boos. The kit includes Bar Keepers Friend cleanser, Scotch-Brite General Purpose Hand Pad (7447), and a bottle of stainless steel polisher. Wet the cleansing pad, sprinkle the cleanser on it, and gently rub onto the stainless steel surface in the direction of the polishing lines. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft clean towel. Finally, use the stainless steel polisher to restore and polish the surface.
10. Routine Maintenance: Regularly wipe off dirty stainless steel surfaces using clean water and non-chloride cleaners. Avoid allowing liquids, food particles, dirt, or foreign debris to stand on the stainless steel for prolonged periods of time. Do not use chlorine bleach, and if used, rinse off with water immediately and wipe off the surface with a soft clean towel.
11. Restoring and Polishing: For polishing and restoring stainless steel surfaces, it is recommended to use John Boos Stainless Steel Cleaner. Always clean and wipe with the polish lines of the stainless steel.
