1. Start by disconnecting both battery cables before welding and checking for fuel lines under the vehicle. Remove the interior of the vehicle, including seats, carpet, and sound deadening.
2. Install protective cardboard over all exposed interior glass and cover up gauges and radio to protect them from sparks.
3. Jack up the vehicle and support it in four places with approved jack stands, ensuring it is level from front to back and side to side.
4. Trial fit the main hoop by measuring from the headliner to the mounting point for the base of the main hoop. Cut the tubes at the marked position and grind the area to remove paint and seam sealer.
5. Tack weld steel floor plates to the marked positions and re-install the main hoop, tacking it to the plates.
6. Install the rear struts, cutting them to the desired length and marking and prepping the trunk plate mounting points. Tack weld the struts in place.
7. Determine the height of the main hoop harness bar and cut it to the correct dimension, taking into account the notch that needs to be added to the end of the tube. Trial fit the crossbrace and tack weld it in place.
8. Install the two forward downstruts, trimming them to fit and tacking them in place.
9. Position the eyebrow bar at the intersection of the horizontal section and the angled section, making sure it does not obstruct the driver's view.
10. Install the main hoop supports, making templates for the notches required on the ends of the tubes. Trial fit the tubes and tack weld them in place.
11. Install the door bars, ensuring they pass by the driver at the correct height and notch them to fit against the main hoop and floor plate. Tack weld the door bars in place.
12. Check each union to ensure no tack welds have broken and place additional tack welds as needed. Finish weld all frame substructures and floor plates, working from side to side and top to bottom of each union.
13. Degrease, sand, and paint the roll cage.
Please note that this is a general guideline and it is important to refer to the specific instructions provided with the Competition Engineering 10-Point Roll Cage for your 2008-up Challenger for detailed and accurate installation steps.
