According to the user manual, the stethoscope should be cleaned and disinfected after examining each patient to prevent cross-contamination. Here is the recommended cleaning and disinfection process:
1. After examining a patient, clean and disinfect the stethoscope using a 70% alcohol solution or a mild soap solution. You can use a soaked tissue or a cloth to apply the solution.
2. Pay attention to the duration of exposure of the cleaning agent used. Follow the instructions on the cleaning agent packaging.
3. Periodically, perform a thorough cleaning of the individual components of the stethoscope. This includes removing the ear tips and membrane if necessary.
4. If you need to remove the membrane, carefully remove the corresponding retaining ring on the diaphragm. Handle the diaphragm with care to prevent damage.
5. Allow all the components to dry completely before reassembling the stethoscope.
Note: Automatic cleaning is not allowed, and stethoscopes are not suitable for sterilization processes.
