To install the INTERMOTIVE BOM560-CC Black Out Module, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the vehicle battery before proceeding with installation.
2. Route and secure all wiring harnesses away from sharp objects, moving parts, and high heat sources to prevent damage to the system and ensure safety.
3. Avoid placing the module near strong magnetic fields or radio frequency energy to prevent interference.
4. Use diode clamped relays when installing upfitter circuits to avoid high voltage spikes in vehicle wiring.
5. Remove the lower dash panel below the steering column area and find a suitable location to mount the BOM560-CC module away from external heat sources.
6. Mount the module using screws or double-sided tape after routing and securing all wire harnesses.
7. Locate the vehicle's Gateway Module (C2431) mounted below the lower left dash panel behind the BCM.
8. Remove the harness behind the Gateway module by pressing the locking tab and pulling outward.
9. Plug the Female side of the InterMotive Gateway Harness into the back of the Gateway module and ensure it is fully seated and secured.
10. Plug the Male side of the InterMotive Data Link Harness into the Gateway harness.
11. Secure the BOM560-CC Gateway harness so that it does not hang below the lower dash panel.
12. Connect the outputs to the vehicle equipment as indicated in the manual using the provided connectors and wires.
13. Connect the BOM560-CC module to the BCM by tapping into the appropriate wires using solder and heat shrink tubing.
14. Install the momentary push button by drilling a hole in the desired location and connecting the bullets to the mating bullets from the BOM560-CC module.
15. Dim the instrument cluster manually when in Blackout mode by repeatedly pressing the dim button.
16. Connect the included relay harness to a +12 volt source that is hot on ignition for proper system operation.
17. Perform the post-installation checklist provided in the manual to ensure correct and safe operation of the system.
18. If any issues arise during installation or operation, refer to the manual or contact InterMotive Technical Support for assistance.
Please note that this is a general overview of the installation process. For detailed instructions and specific wiring connections, refer to the INTERMOTIVE BOM560-CC Black Out Module User Manual.
