To install the Be Modern BEMO0115 Electric Fire, you have two options: wall-hanging mode or free-standing mode. Here are the steps for each mode:
Wall-Hanging Mode:
1. Find a safe location for the electric fire. Ensure there is a minimum clearance of 100mm on each side, 66mm from the floor, and 3 feet (90cm) from the front.
2. Choose a solid and plain wall and place the wall mount bracket in the desired position. Mark the 4 holes with a pencil.
3. Drill 4 holes on the wall and insert the plastic wall plugs. If the wall is solid wood, drilling holes and using wall plugs may not be necessary.
4. With the firebox at an angle, fit the slots in the back of the firebox over the hooks on the wall mount bracket. Press the top of the firebox against the wall mount bracket, ensuring the slots at the top edge of the firebox slide over the wall mount bracket tabs.
5. Hold the firebox in place and thread the thumb screws through the holes in the firebox and into the wall mount bracket tabs. Tighten both thumb screws to secure the firebox to the wall.
6. Carefully set both hooks of the front glass panel into the slots at the top front edge of the firebox. Press the two posts of the glass panel into the locking slots near the lower corners of the front firebox panel. Ensure the posts click into the slots. Thread the ST4x8 screws through the glass panel hooks and into the threaded holes in the firebox. Partially tighten by hand, then securely tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
Free-Standing Mode:
1. Lay the firebox on its back. Align the holes in the pedestal with the threaded inserts in the firebox. Thread four M5x16 machine screws through each hole in the pedestal and into the threaded inserts. Check the alignment of the pedestal.
2. Stand the fireplace up and place it on a sturdy, level surface near where you plan to use it. Carefully arrange the decorative stones along the inset window ledge at the front of the firebox. Take care when moving the fireplace to prevent the decorative stones from falling out.
