To install the LSI LASTEM E-Log Data Logger, follow these steps:
1. Install the 3DOM software on your PC by accessing the Download section of the LSI LASTEM website (www.lsi-lastem.com) and following the instructions provided.
2. Once the software is installed, start the 3DOM program from the LSI LASTEM programs list on your PC.
3. Connect your PC to the E-Log Data Logger using the supplied ELA105 serial cable. Connect the cable to serial port 1 on the E-Log Data Logger.
4. In the 3DOM program, select Instrument -> New and follow the guided procedure to add the new instrument. Set the communication parameters, such as the type of communication (Serial), the serial port connected to the E-Log Data Logger, and the Bps speed (9600).
5. After the instrument has been recognized, you can enter additional data, such as a user-defined name and description for the instrument.
6. Check the internal clock of the E-Log Data Logger by selecting the instrument serial number in the Instruments panel of the 3DOM program. Select Statistics from the Communication menu and check the option to set a new time instantaneously. Press the Set key to synchronize the instrument's clock with your computer's clock.
7. Configure the E-Log Data Logger by creating a new configuration in the 3DOM program. You can start with the basic configuration provided or choose a configuration model. Add the measurements of the sensors you want to connect to the E-Log Data Logger and set the desired elaboration rate, actuation logics, and operating characteristics.
8. Save the configuration and transfer it to the E-Log Data Logger by selecting the name of the configuration in the Configurations panel of the 3DOM program. Right-click on the configuration name and choose Upload.
9. Once the configuration has been transferred, the E-Log Data Logger will restart with the new settings.
