To install the LUMASCAPE LS9407LED Vedita Downlight Luminaire, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have a Lumascape transformer for optimal performance. Using a different transformer may affect the warranty.
2. It is important to note that opening the luminaire will void the warranty.
3. Install the luminaire in accordance with the National Electric Code (ANSI/NFPA 70) or the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I (CEC), CSA C22.1.
4. The luminaire is approved for installation as a Class 2 rated luminaire in general purpose locations. Make all connections according to the Class 2 rules of your local jurisdiction. Do not use this luminaire in plenums.
5. Mark the locations where you want to install the luminaires. Use the holesaw provided to cut a hole in the installation surface. The thickness of the installation surface must be within the range of 0.35" to 0.80".
6. Collapse the legs of the mounting clip and push the clip up into the hole. Ensure that the clip fits tightly.
7. Place the junction box close enough to the luminaire so that the factory-fitted cord length can reach it. Secure the cord and terminate it according to local wiring rules. Note that these luminaires are generally not "Hot Swappable," so do not disconnect or reconnect them to an energized Class 2 circuit.
8. Connect the luminaire to the load side of the Class 2 power supply. Ensure that any joint is dry and water-tight to avoid voiding the warranty.
9. Once the circuit and all luminaires are confirmed to be working, push the luminaire into the mounting clip.
Note: If you do not require dimming, do not connect the orange and grey wires. Seal and keep these wires dry to prevent the intelligent driver from dimming the luminaire due to a voltage differential between the two conductors.
For more detailed instructions on fine-tuning the brightness of the luminaire or wiring for dimming configurations, please refer to the instruction manual or consult the luminaire-specific cutsheet.
