To install the VANCO W5VB-BSC 5.25 Inch On-Wall Indoor-Outdoor Speaker, please follow these steps:
1. Speaker Wire: Pull one run of 16-2 stranded speaker wire from the amplifier location to each speaker location. Alternatively, you can pull one run of 16-2 stranded speaker wire to the first speaker and cascade out to the other speakers running in parallel. It is recommended to pull extra wire to any desired location for future speaker additions.
2. Mounting Location: Use the bracket to find the appropriate mounting location and position on a wall made of sufficient material to withstand the weight of the speaker, such as wood/metal studs or other wood structures.
3. Fixing the Bracket: Securely fix the bracket to the wall using appropriate screws.
4. Attaching the Speaker: Attach the speaker to the bracket using the provided screws. The speaker comes with an angled mounting bracket, allowing you to angle the speaker as needed while mounting it to a flat surface.
5. Tap Dial: The tap dial on the rear of the speaker allows you to set the wattage output of the speaker. If you are using a 70V/100V amplifier, set the tap value accordingly. If you are using an 8ohm amplifier, set the speaker(s) to 8ohm configuration.
6. Wiring: Connect the red terminal of the amplifier to the speaker's (+) terminal and the black terminal of the amplifier to the speaker's (-) terminal. Ensure that the polarity of the speakers is not inverted (+ goes to -) to avoid unnatural sound and lack of bass.
