To update the software on your Razer Blade 14" (2022) laptop, please follow these steps:
1. Before the update, ensure that device encryption and Windows Hello are disabled:
- Check if device encryption is disabled by clicking on Start, typing "cmd," and selecting "Run as administrator." Enter "manage-bde -status" and check the Conversion Status. It should be "Fully Decrypted." If not, go to Settings > Privacy & security > Device encryption and toggle off the switch for Device encryption. Wait until it is fully decrypted.
- Check if Windows Hello is disabled by going to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Click "Remove" if Windows Hello Sign-in is enabled for Facial recognition and PIN.
2. Download the firmware update from the official Razer website (https://rzr.to/F065YG).
3. Ensure that all ongoing updates are complete and close all applications.
4. Double-click on the downloaded updater file and click "Update."
5. Wait for the system to restart. During the restart, the light will blink green, and the keyboard will light up and turn off a few times before the system fully restarts. This process may take about 15 minutes.
6. After the restart, the device will stay in a blank screen state for a few minutes before fully powering up.
7. Follow the onscreen instructions when the fTPM prompt appears. Press "Y" if Device Encryption is disabled before the software update. Press "N" to keep the old fTPM record.
8. To check if the update was successful via the BIOS menu, reboot the Razer Blade and press the "F1" or "DEL" key to access the BIOS menu. Press "Alt" + "I" keys and check the BIOS, EC, PD-1, and PD-2 firmware versions. If the BIOS version is 3.04, the EC firmware version is 1.04, and the PD-1 and PD-2 firmware versions are 00.00.00.11, the update is successful.
9. To check if the update was successful via Device Manager, press the "Windows" + "X" keys and select "Device Manager." Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and look for USB4. If USB4 shows a yellow exclamation mark, check for Windows updates to receive the latest drivers (including optional updates). If USB4 is not yet supported, contact Razer Support for further assistance.
Please note that the entire software update process may take some time, and it is important to follow all the steps mentioned above to ensure a successful update.
