To assemble the Sealey SGA2.V2 Oxyacetylene Welding & Brazing Kit for welding, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that all parts that come into contact with acetylene or oxygen, including hands and tools, are free from oil or grease. If any grease or oil is found on a cylinder, discontinue its use immediately and contact your gas supplier.
2. Connect the gas regulators to the appropriate cylinders. Attach the oxygen regulator to the oxygen cylinder and the acetylene regulator to the acetylene cylinder. Ensure that the inlet filter on each gauge is in place and not blocked or contaminated. xxxx the union at the base of each regulator to the appropriate cylinder by hand. Use a wrench to ensure tight connections.
3. Connect the flash arrestors to the outlet on the regulators. Connect the blue-colored flash arrestor to the oxygen regulator and the red-colored flash arrestor to the acetylene regulator. Tighten all nuts securely with a wrench.
4. Connect the hoses to the flash arrestors. Connect the blue-colored hose to the blue, oxygen flash arrestor and the red-colored hose to the red, acetylene flash arrestor. Ensure that the hose fittings are sufficiently tightened to the flash arrestors.
5. Blow out both hoses to eliminate any particles or debris. Turn the oxygen or acetylene regulator adjusting xxxx clockwise to allow 5psi to pass through the hose. Allow the gas to flow for approximately 10 seconds to purge each hose in turn.
6. Assemble the torch for welding by screwing the chosen welding nozzle into the welding attachment and fully tightening it down. xxxx the welding attachment with the nozzle attached onto the torch handle and fully tighten the ribbed nut.
7. Fit non-return valves to the torch before connecting the respective hoses. An oxygen non-return valve with a normal thread should be fitted to the blue-coded side of the torch, and an acetylene non-return valve with a reverse thread should be fitted to the red-coded side of the torch.
8. Connect the hoses to the respective non-return valves fitted to the torch handle. Ensure that the hose fittings are sufficiently tightened to the torch.
9. Perform a leak test on all connections and valves prior to each use of the equipment. Use an approved leak detection spray or soap and water solution to check for leaks. If a leak is found, tighten the fitting more securely. If the leak persists, discontinue use and call your supplier.
10. Once the torch is assembled and all connections are secure, you can proceed with welding. Follow the safety precautions and operational instructions provided in the manual.
