To connect the Radial JPC MK3 Stereo PC DI Box to your computer, follow these steps:
1. Make sure all levels are turned down before connecting the DI box.
2. The JPC is powered by 48V phantom power through the XLR outputs. Before connecting the DI box, ensure that phantom power is turned off on your mixer or audio interface. This is important to prevent any loud transient signal spikes that could potentially damage your sound system.
3. The JPC features a variety of input connectors to accommodate different types of audio devices. Choose the appropriate connector based on your computer's output:
- If your computer has a 3.5mm headphone jack, use a 3.5mm TRS stereo mini connector to connect the computer's output to the DI box.
- If your computer has RCA outputs, use RCA stereo connectors to connect the computer's output to the DI box.
- If your computer has a headphone output or stereo line output with 1/4" jacks, use dual mono 1/4" TRS connectors to connect the computer's output to the DI box.
4. Once you have chosen the appropriate connector, plug one end into your computer's output and the other end into the corresponding input jack on the front panel of the DI box.
5. If you need to split the signal or adapt from one connector type to another, you can use the thru-put feature of the DI box. Simply connect another cable from the thru-put jack of the DI box to your desired destination.
6. On the output panel of the DI box, you will find stereo XLR male output connectors. These can be connected to your professional sound system, such as a mixing console or microphone snake. Make sure to follow the AES standard with pin-2 hot when connecting the XLR outputs.
7. If you encounter any buzz or hum caused by ground loops, you can use the ground lift switch on the side of the DI box to break the ground connection between the input and output. The default position is lifted, which helps eliminate ground loop noise.
8. Once everything is connected, you can turn on phantom power at your mixer or audio interface. The JPC will automatically turn on when phantom power is activated. The power LEDs on the front panel of the DI box will illuminate to indicate that phantom power is present.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully connect the Radial JPC MK3 Stereo PC DI Box to your computer and interface it with your professional sound system. For more detailed information, please refer to the user guide provided with the DI box.
