If you have purchased the EVELO Galaxy Lux and need to assemble it, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Before starting the assembly, make sure to remove the spacer in the front brake caliper. The spacer keeps the brake pistons retracted and needs to be removed prior to assembly. The caliper is located at the bottom of the front fork. Simply pull the plastic tab out to remove it.
2. If your Galaxy Lux is fully assembled, you can skip the assembly instructions. If not, please visit the following link for detailed assembly instructions: evelo.com/galaxy-lux-assembly
3. Once your bike is assembled, the first step is to ensure that the battery is charged. The battery charge port is located at the back left side of the battery and covered with a rubber cover. Pull the cover back and connect the battery to the charger. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before your first ride.
4. Note that there is a red power switch on the rear right-hand side of the battery. The switch is a toggle switch that turns the battery on and off. Before riding, make sure the battery switch is in the "on" position, which is indicated by the "o" position. The "-" position turns the battery off and is recommended for long periods of non-use.
5. The battery can be charged on or off the bike. To remove the battery, insert and turn the key, then pull the battery directly out towards the back. To install the battery, insert it from the rear and give a firm push until it clicks into place. The battery will automatically lock back into place.
6. Before your initial ride, perform a pre-ride check. Ensure that the wheels spin freely, check the belt tension, squeeze both brake levers to ensure proper braking, tighten the front wheel quick release lever, and check the tire pressure.
7. Familiarize yourself with the controls of the Galaxy Lux. The bike includes front and rear brake levers equipped with cutoff switches, a shifter, a throttle, and pedal assist buttons. Refer to the user guide for detailed information on each control.
8. Adjust the seat to your desired height. Open the quick release lever and adjust the seat post up or down. There should be a slight bend in your leg at full extension. If needed, you can cut the seat post with a sharp hacksaw blade.
9. Power up your bike by using the 4 button switch located on the left side of the handlebars. The "o" button on the lower right-hand side of the panel is used to toggle power on and off. Hold it for 2-3 seconds until the display panel lights up.
10. Once everything is set up, you are ready to ride! Start slowly, use a low level of pedal assist, and gradually increase as you become more comfortable with the bike.
