To install the RYOBI A99LM3 Door Latch Router Template on a wooden door, follow these steps:
1. Fit the door latch router template onto the side of the door so that the pre-drilled latch hole is visible through the template's opening. If needed, use the door thickness insert to secure a proper fit on slim doors.
2. If your door measures 1-3/8" thick, use the door thickness insert and set the router depth to a deeper setting. If your door measures 1-3/4" thick, remove the insert and use the shallow router bit depth setting.
3. Place the latch locator into the template guide and slide the template until the latch locator drops completely into the pre-drilled latch hole.
4. Secure the latch template on the door or frame by tightening the clamp until the door latch router template is locked in place.
5. Remove the latch locator.
6. Insert the 1/4" shank straight router bit into a router.
7. Set the appropriate bit depth on the router using the router bit depth gauge on the template. If the door thickness insert was used, use the deeper router bit depth.
8. Cut clockwise within the guide to score the area for the latch plate. Start inside the latch hole and work outward until the entire area has been routed.
9. Follow the directions included with your door hardware for instructions on latch plate installation.
