To install the AOSmith 5 Star Rated Elegance V Prime Storage Water Geysers, follow these steps:
1. Before installing, inspect the water heater and its component parts for any possible damage. Do not install or attempt to repair any damaged component parts. Contact the dealer or the A. O. Smith Customer Care Centre if you detect any damage.
2. Verify that the voltage being supplied corresponds to that which is marked on the water heater manual.
3. Choose a suitable location to mount the water heater vertically with the water connection at the bottom. The water heater must be located within 3 ft. from a 230 V electrical outlet with proper grounding. Make sure the wall can withstand at least twice the weight of the water heater when filled with water.
4. Use a drill bit with a diameter of 12 mm to drill 2 holes at least 90 mm deep in the wall. The two holes should be aligned horizontally, with a horizontal distance of 150 mm between them.
5. Insert the Expansion Anchor into one of the holes, then insert the Hanging xxxx over the Expansion Anchor and tighten it until it is fixed steadily.
6. Mount the water heater on the Hanging xxxx through the Wall mount bracket. Tug downwards on the water heater to ensure it is fixed steadily.
7. Connect the Multi-function Safety valve to the cold water inlet pipe by wrapping the threaded part of the pipe with Teflon tape in a clockwise direction. Rotate the valve in a clockwise direction until it is fixed.
8. Connect the cold water pipe to the inlet (marked with a blue sticker) and the hot water pipe to the outlet (marked with a red sticker) using suitable plumbing connections. Make sure to use Teflon tape to prevent leakage.
9. Connect the water heater to the electrical supply using the provided power cord and plug. Ensure that the socket is in firm contact with the plug and that reliable earthing has been done.
10. Once the installation is complete, fill the water heater tank by opening a nearby hot water faucet to permit air to escape. Open the cold water inlet valve fully and close the hot water faucet when water flows. Check all connections for leakage and repair any leaks before proceeding.
11. Finally, turn on the power supply to the water heater and adjust the temperature using the Temperature control xxxx .
