To measure AC or DC current using the PeakTech 3131eff Digital-AC DC Clamp Meter, follow these steps:
1. Set the slide switch on the meter to the "A ~" position.
2. Open the spring-loaded clamp by pressing the trigger on the left side of the meter.
3. Position the clamp around the wire or conductor through which the current is flowing. Make sure the clamp is fully closed.
4. Release the clamp trigger smoothly, avoiding quick release.
5. Ensure that only one conductor is positioned within the clamp. If multiple conductors are within the clamp, the meter reading will be inaccurate.
6. For DC current measurement, the reading will be a positive value when the current flows from the upper side to the lower side of the instrument.
7. Use the zero switch to zero the reading. Zero in the same direction as the measurement to avoid interference from external magnetic fields.
