1. Training: Only trained personnel who are familiar with the operation of the equipment should carry out the work. Incorrect operation can lead to hazardous situations and injury.
2. Operator Responsibilities: The operator must ensure that no unauthorized person is in the working area when the equipment is started up. Additionally, no one should be unprotected when the arc is struck or work is started.
3. Suitable Workplace: The workplace should be suitable for the purpose and free from drafts.
4. Personal Safety Equipment: Always wear recommended personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, flame-proof clothing, and safety gloves. Avoid wearing loose-fitting items that could become trapped or cause burns.
5. Return Cable: Make sure the return cable is securely connected.
