To install the Ottobock 4R44=L Lower Limb Prosthetics Adapter Ring, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the product for use by aligning and assembling the prosthetic components according to the instructions provided. Make sure to clean the threads before installation and apply the specified torque values.
2. Adjust the adapter by shortening the threaded connector according to the patient's measurements. Use a metal saw or lathe to shorten the adapter, ensuring that the thread being used remains undamaged.
3. Deburr the cut edge without grinding a bevel on the thread to ensure a smooth surface.
4. After shortening, the 4R44=L adapter can be either screwed into the thread of a lamination anchor or connected to the 4R50 adapter, depending on the desired configuration.
- If using the lamination anchor, xxxx the adapter completely into the thread of the lamination anchor. The adapter may be unscrewed by a maximum of 1/4 turn out of the thread for alignment. Secure the cap xxxx of the threaded clamping using Loctite® as described in the lamination anchor instructions for use.
- If using the 4R50 adapter, align the pyramid receiver of the 4R44=L adapter distally. Fully xxxx the 4R50 adapter onto the thread of the 4R44=L adapter. The adapter may be unscrewed by a maximum of 1/4 turn out of the thread for alignment. Align the threaded clamping to the anterior and tighten the cap xxxx with a torque value of 13 Nm.
5. If necessary, connect the pyramid adapter and pyramid receiver by screwing in the set screws. Use a torque wrench to tighten the set screws with a torque value of 10 Nm. For definitive assembly, secure the set screws with Loctite and tighten them with a torque value of 15 Nm. Replace any set screws that are protruding or recessed too much with appropriate set screws.
6. Conduct static adjustments during alignment, trial fittings, and after the prosthesis is finished using the set screws in the pyramid receiver.
Please note that this is a general overview of the installation process. For detailed instructions and specific guidelines, refer to the Ottobock 4R44=L Lower Limb Prosthetics Adapter Ring Instructions provided by the manufacturer.
