To install the IKA-BREMER Cooker Hood, follow these steps:
1. Before installation, make sure to read the instruction manual carefully and ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to the one indicated on the rating plate fixed inside the hood.
2. The hood can only be used in the Ducted Mode, which means it should be ducted to the outside to exhaust fumes.
3. Only a qualified and trained service technician should undertake the installation work.
4. Check that the domestic power supply guarantees adequate earthing.
5. Do not connect the hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes (boilers, fireplaces, etc.).
6. If the hood is used in conjunction with non-electrical appliances (e.g., gas burning appliances), ensure sufficient aeration in the room to prevent the backflow of exhaust gas. The kitchen must have an opening directly with the open air to guarantee clean air entry.
7. The minimum distance from the cooker hood to a gas hob is 750mm, and 650mm to an electric hob. If the installation instructions for gas hobs specify a greater distance, it must be taken into account.
8. Carefully remove the plastic protective film from all exterior surfaces of the hood and chimney before final installation.
9. At least two people will be required to mount the hood.
10. Follow the instructions in the manual for wall drilling and brackets fixing. This includes drawing vertical and horizontal lines on the supporting wall, placing chimney mounting brackets and hood mounting bracket, marking the wall, drilling holes, and fixing the brackets using screws and drywall anchors.
11. Once the brackets are fixed, hook the hood body onto the hood mounting bracket and balance the hood by adjusting the bracket. Lower the hood until it securely engages the bracket.
12. Attach an adequate length of round duct to the recessed area of the air outlet adapter and secure it using screws.
13. For the electrical connection, it must be done by a qualified person in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Turn off the electrical power before wiring. Do not use an extension cord other than the one initially supplied with the hood.
14. The telescopic chimney assembly involves carefully sliding the decorative chimney bottom down outside the decorative chimney top and fixing it with screws. The decorative chimney top is then raised inside the decorative chimney bottom and secured to the chimney mounting bracket with screws.
