To install the FEISS COLLECTION FE-PAYNE-1-BATH Payne 1-Light Wall Light, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you are installing the fixture onto a sufficiently strong and load-bearing surface.
2. If you are installing the light in a bathroom or any location exposed to high levels of moisture, it is recommended to apply a silicone seal around the back-plate/canopy. Please note that the silicone seal is not supplied with the product.
3. Before starting the electrical work, switch off the power supply at the fuse box (consumer unit). You can either turn off the miniature circuit breaker (MCB) for the circuit of your light (consider applying RED insulating tape over the MCB to prevent accidental turning on), or turn off the main switch, remove the circuit fuse, and then turn on the main switch again to restore power to the rest of the house.
4. The wiring instructions are provided on the final page of the manual. The color coding for the wires is as follows:
- GREEN/YELLOW: Earth wire
- BROWN: Live wire
- BLUE: Neutral wire
- BLUE with brown sleeving: Switch wire with sleeving
- Live wires can sometimes be signified by a RED wire, and neutral wires can sometimes be signified by a white or black wire.
5. If your luminaire is a CLASS I Luminaire (Earthed), connect the brown wire from the luminaire to the supply live wire (red or brown). Connect the blue wire to the supply neutral wire (black or blue). Connect the green/yellow wire to the supply earth wire (green/yellow) or connect the supply earth to the luminaire earth terminal marked.
6. If your luminaire is a CLASS II Luminaire (Not earthed), these luminaires are double insulated and do not need to be connected to the supply earth. Make sure that the basic insulation of the supply wiring cannot contact touchable metal. Connect the brown wire from the luminaire to the supply live wire (red or brown). Connect the blue wire to the supply neutral wire (black or blue). Isolate the supply earth wire.
7. If silicone sleeving is provided, fit it over the supply cable up to the terminal block or lamp holder, at least up to the mounting surface, to protect the cable from heat.
8. After installation, it is recommended to recycle electrical products and components. Please check with your Local Authority or Retailer for recycling advice.
If you have any further questions or concerns, you can contact the help line at +44 1420 82377. However, it is recommended to have the lights installed by a qualified electrician for safety and proper installation.
