To perform the photometric determination using the MACHEREY-NAGEL 985 098 Tube test NANOCOLOR Aluminum 07, follow these steps:
1. Preliminary Test: If the concentration of aluminum in your sample is unknown, perform a preliminary test using QUANTOFIX Aluminum (REF 913 07) to determine the order of magnitude of the concentration. This will help you calculate the required dilution.
2. Reagent Set: The reagent set includes 19 test tubes labeled Aluminum 07 with NANOFIX. Additionally, you will find one test tube each with 11 mL of Aluminum 07 R2, Aluminum 07 R3, Aluminum 07 R4, and a blank value labeled "NULL."
3. Interferences: Fluoride interferes with the test. If your sample is turbid, filter it using a membrane filter with a pore size of 0.45 μm (REF 916 50). For the determination of total aluminum, you can use NANOCOLOR NanOx Metal (REF 918 978) and microwave decomposition. The method can also be applied for the analysis of sea water.
4. Measurement: If you are using a NANOCOLOR photometer or PF-12, refer to the manual and follow the instructions for test 0-98. If your samples are colored or turbid, refer to the manual of your NANOCOLOR photometer and use the correction value key. For photometers of other manufacturers, check if they can measure round glass tubes. Verify the factor for each instrument type by measuring standard solutions. The factor depends on the wavelength.
5. Analytical Quality Control: For quality control, you can use NANOCONTROL Multistandard Drinking water (REF 925 018).
