To adjust the hangar bar length for the NICOR DLR56 (v5) 5-6-inch Nickel Recessed LED Downlight System, please follow these steps:
1. Carefully unpack the frame from its packaging and inspect it for any defects due to shipping.
2. If necessary, adjust the hangar bar length by separating the bars. The hangar bars have score marks that indicate where they can be snapped to the desired length.
3. Once you have determined the desired length, snap the hangar bars at the score marks to separate them.
4. Reassemble the hangar bars by aligning the ends and pushing them together until they securely lock into place.
5. Position the frame between the joists in your ceiling, ensuring that the hangar bars are in the correct position. The bottom edge of the hangar bars should be level with the bottom of the joists.
6. Starting with the swivel foot end of the hangar bar, secure the hangar bars to the joists using the captive nails provided. Make sure the hangar bars are securely fastened.
