To use the MIDI Controller to control the Generation Loss MKII pedal, follow these steps:
1. Install the Max for Live control plugin: The MIDI Controller is a Max for Live control plugin that allows you to control the Generation Loss MKII pedal using Ableton. Make sure you have Max for Live installed on your computer before using the MIDI Controller.
2. Familiarize yourself with the simplified view: The MIDI Controller interface provides a simplified view of the Generation Loss MKII pedal's controls. It includes knobs for adjusting the effect, toggles for introducing noise, mixing in dry signal, and selecting the aux effect. There is also a Classic mode that offers different controls.
3. Access advanced controls in the expanded view: Click on the "Expand View" button to access advanced controls. This includes dip switches for configuring the pedal to your setup, alt controls for customizing various settings, randomization functions for generating new settings, sync option for syncing the pedal to the MIDI Controller, and presets for saving and loading up to 122 presets.
4. Use the dip switches to configure Generation Loss: The dip switches in the expanded view allow you to configure Generation Loss MKII according to your setup. This includes I/O settings, expression/CV options, internal modulation, and more. You can also use the "Reset Dips" button to turn off all dip switches.
5. Customize the alt controls: The alt controls in the expanded view allow you to customize specific settings of the Generation Loss MKII pedal. This includes input gain, noise response, ramping speed, and more.
6. Randomize settings: The MIDI Controller provides randomization functions to quickly generate new settings for the Generation Loss MKII pedal. You can choose to randomize any control, only alt controls, or only ramping.
7. Sync the pedal to the MIDI Controller: The "Sync" option in the expanded view allows you to sync the pedal to the settings on the MIDI Controller. This is useful if you make physical adjustments to the pedal and want to match them with the MIDI Controller settings.
8. Save and load presets: The MIDI Controller allows you to save and load up to 122 presets. You can type in the preset number or use drag and scroll to select the desired slot. Holding shift while dragging allows for smaller increments.
