To adjust the full scale and offset of the GeoSIG AC-23 Accelerometer, follow the steps below:
1. Full Scale Adjustment:
- The full scale can be adjusted without gain re-calibration by means of jumpers with fixed 0.1% precise amplifiers.
- Locate the full scale jumper positions on the accelerometer board.
- Depending on the desired full scale range, set the jumpers to the corresponding positions:
- 0.1 g: Jumper positions 1-2
- 0.2 g: Jumper positions 3-4
- 0.5 g: Jumper positions 5-6
- 1.0 g: Jumper positions 7-8
- 2.0 g: Jumper positions 9-10
- 4.0 g: Jumper positions 11-12
2. Offset Adjustment:
- After selecting the new full scale range, the offset must be checked and adjusted if necessary.
- Locate the offset potentiometer on the accelerometer board.
- Connect a Digital Voltmeter (DVM) to the output of the accelerometer.
- Adjust the offset potentiometer so that the DVM readings stay within the specified ranges according to the sensor output range:
- ±10 Volts: 0.00 ± 0.05 V
- ±5 Volts: 0.00 ± 0.05 V
- 2.5 ± 2.5 Volts: 2.50 ± 0.02 V
- 10 ± 10 mA: 2.50 ± 0.02 V
Note: Be careful to only adjust the offset potentiometer and not touch any other potentiometers, as it may affect the calibration.
Please refer to the GeoSIG AC-23 Accelerometer User Manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations on adjusting the full scale and offset of the accelerometer.
