Proper cleaning and maintenance of the LabSen 241-3 Micro pH Electrode are essential to ensure accurate and reliable measurements. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Usage and Transportation:
- Be careful during usage and transportation to avoid any shock or breakage, as the measuring tip of the electrode is only Φ3mm.
2. Before Measurement:
- Unscrew the bottle cap and pull out the electrode.
- Rinse the electrode with deionized water.
- After use, put the electrode back into the bottle and xxxx the cap tightly.
- Before pulling out or putting back the electrode, fully loosen the blue cap on the storage sleeve to allow smooth movement of the electrode.
3. Reference Solution:
- Prior to measurement, remove the rubber plug to maintain the pressure of the reference solution.
- Ensure a consistent flow rate of the reference solution and stable potentials of the junction.
4. Refilling the Reference Solution:
- After a period of usage, the reference solution may run low.
- When the level falls to 1/2 the height of the electrode, add 3M KCL solution to the refilling hole using a syringe or pipette.
5. Connector Cleaning:
- Keep the electrode connector clean and dry.
- If it becomes contaminated, clean it with medical cotton and absolute alcohol, then blow dry to prevent electrode short-circuiting and slow reaction.
6. Storage Solution:
- Soak the measuring tip of the electrode in a soaking bottle containing a certain amount of storage solution.
- This keeps the membrane hydrated and the junction unblocked.
- Clean the bottle and replace the storage solution if it becomes turbid or mildewed.
- Do not immerse the electrode in pure water or buffer solution for an extended period.
7. Replacement:
- After 1 year of use, it is recommended to replace the electrode to ensure the best accuracy.
