To properly clean and maintain the APERA INSTRUMENTS LabSen 241-6 Semi-Micro pH Electrode, please follow these steps:
1. Connect the BNC plug of the electrode to the input on the pH meter.
2. When measuring, unscrew the bottle cap, pull out the electrode, and rinse it with deionized water.
3. After use, put the electrode back into the bottle and xxxx the cap tightly.
4. Before pulling out or putting back the electrode, fully loosen the blue cap on the storage sleeve to allow smooth movement of the electrode.
5. Prior to measurement, remove the rubber plug to maintain the pressure of the reference solution and ensure a consistent flow rate of the reference solution and stable potentials of the junction.
6. After a period of usage, the reference solution may run low. Whenever the level falls to 1/2 height of the electrode, add 3M KCl solution to the refilling hole using a syringe or pipette.
7. Keep the connector of the electrode clean and dry. If it becomes contaminated, clean it with medical cotton and absolute alcohol, and blow dry to prevent a short circuit or slow reaction.
8. Soak the measuring tip of the electrode in a soaking bottle containing a certain amount of storage solution to keep the membrane hydrated and the junction unblocked. Clean the bottle and replace the storage solution if it becomes turbid and mildewed. Do not soak the electrode in pure water or buffer solution for an extended period.
9. After 1 year of use, it is recommended to replace the electrode to ensure the best accuracy.
