To connect the CARLO GAVAZZI EM111 AV5 Energy Management Energy Analyzer to your electrical system, follow the instructions provided in the installation and use manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Make sure to disconnect the power supply and load before installing the analyzer to ensure safety.
2. Identify the terminals on the analyzer for current, voltage, and communication connections (Area A in Fig. 1).
3. Connect the current transformer (CT) to the appropriate terminals on the analyzer. The CT ratio should be selected based on the specifications provided in the manual.
4. Connect the voltage lines to the L and N terminals on the analyzer.
5. If required by local law, install a 315 mA fuse in the single-phase system (Fig. 2).
6. If you want to use two energy tariffs, connect a digital input to the analyzer. An open contact represents tariff 1, while a closed contact represents tariff 2 (Fig. 3).
7. If you want to communicate measurements using the RS485 Modbus port, connect the appropriate devices using the Modbus RTU protocol. Additional instruments with RS485 can be connected in parallel, but make sure to terminate the serial output only on the last network device (Fig. 4).
Please refer to the diagrams and illustrations provided in the manual for a better understanding of the connections.
Note: It is important to have the analyzer installed by qualified or authorized personnel to ensure proper installation and avoid any potential risks.
