To install the Visual Comfort KW 5707 Appareil 40 Inch Low Profile Chandelier, please follow the steps below:
1. Before installation, ensure that you comply with all applicable local installation codes and have a good understanding of the construction and operation of the chandelier.
2. Carefully inspect the item and its contents. If any damage or defect is found, do not proceed with the installation. Retain all packaging material until installation is complete and approved.
3. Gather the necessary tools for installation, which include a Phillips screwdriver, slip joint pliers, slotted screwdriver, wire strippers, and wire cutters. These tools are not included with the chandelier.
4. Remove all parts from the box and place them on a clean and soft surface.
5. Loosen the collar ring (F) to remove the mounting plate (B) from the canopy (D).
6. Take out the driver from the bracket of the mounting plate (B).
7. Install the mounting plate (B) to the junction box and secure it with the provided mounting screws (C).
8. Connect the supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) around the green grounding xxxx , as shown in diagram 1. Ensure it is tightened properly. Note that grounding the fixture is essential.
9. Feed the fixture wires through the bottom rod (H) and connect them to the fixture body (I).
10. Continue feeding the fixture wires through the collar ring (F), canopy (D), and top rod (G).
11. Hold the fixture upright and slide the collar ring (F) and canopy (D) down the bottom rod (H) until they rest on the fixture body (I). Then connect the top rod (G) to the bottom rod (H). Take care to slide the components down slowly to avoid any damages.
12. Hang the fixture swivel ball (E) to the center of the mounting plate (C).
13. Cut any excess wires, ensuring that enough length is left to reach the junction box. Separate the black and red wires and strip insulation on each about 5/8".
14. Connect the fixture neutral wire (black) to the driver output neutral wire (black) using the provided wire nut (A).
15. Connect the fixture hot wire (red) to the driver output hot wire (red) using the wire nut (A).
16. Connect the driver input neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using the wire nut (A).
17. Connect the driver input hot wire (black) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using the wire nut (A). Be cautious not to reverse the hot and neutral connections.
18. Ensure all wire connections are tight, and carefully tuck them into the junction box.
19. Insert the driver into the mounting plate bracket.
20. Install the canopy (D) to the mounting plate (B) and secure it with the collar ring (F).
For cleaning, use only a soft dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid using abrasive or chemical agents.
