To assemble the music hall mmf-3.3 turntable, please follow these steps:
1. Clear a level and suitable workspace to assemble the turntable.
2. Remove the turntable and all parts from the carton.
3. Remove the three transport screws from the top chassis.
4. Install the drive belt for 33⅓ and 45 rpm play by looping the belt around the smaller diameter rim of the stepped motor pulley and around the rim of the sub-platter. Change the speed by pressing the speed control button on the chassis. For 78 rpm play, use the large diameter rim of the motor pulley and change the drive belt to the round belt from the accessories.
5. Center the platter over the spindle of the sub-platter and lower it until it rests securely on the sub-platter.
6. Find the counterweight and place it onto the tonearm. xxxx the counterweight counterclockwise onto the back of the tonearm. The tracking force scale on the counterweight has no decimal point, so adjust it to the desired tracking force.
7. Remove the tonearm-locking strap and place it in a safe position for possible future transport.
8. Make sure the tonearm is in the tonearm rest. Remove the stylus guard and place it in a safe place for future use.
9. Balance (zero) the tonearm by lifting, positioning, and holding the tonearm between the tonearm rest and the platter. Turn the counterweight counterclockwise or clockwise until the tonearm floats freely, without the aid of your hand, in mid-air and parallel to the platter. Then return it to the tonearm rest.
10. Set the tracking force by turning the counterweight counterclockwise with your right hand. Turn it through the numbers on the tracking force scale until the desired tracking force is set.
11. Install the anti-skating weight by slipping the looped end of the fishing line over the anti-skating rod and into the notch. Lift the anti-skating weight over the anti-skating hanger and feed the fishing line through the looped end of the hanger.
12. Slide the dust cover onto the dust cover hinges on the back of the plinth. Adjust the tightness of the hinges if necessary.
13. Connect the turntable to the power supply using the supplied wall transformer. Connect the interconnect cable to the audio output connectors on the bottom of the turntable and connect the ground lead to the xxxx . Connect the other end of the interconnect cable and ground cable to the MM phono input on your receiver, integrated amp, or pre-amplifier.
14. Place a record on the platter, push the mains switch to the 'ON' position, remove the stylus guard, and lower the tonearm onto the record to start playing.
15. To stop play, lift the cueing lever to raise the arm and bring the tonearm back to the tonearm rest. Push the mains switch to 'OFF'.
16. For maintenance and troubleshooting, refer to the manual for detailed instructions.
