To properly apply the Curaplex defibrillator pads, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the patient's chest is dry and free from any lotions, oils, or sweat. If necessary, wipe the chest area with a clean cloth or towel.
2. Open the packaging of the Curaplex defibrillator pads by using the easy open peel pouch or tear notch.
3. Identify the correct size and type of defibrillator pad for your device. Refer to the ordering information provided in the manual to find the appropriate part number for your specific defibrillator brand and model.
4. Remove the defibrillator pads from the packaging, being careful not to touch the adhesive gel on the pads.
5. Place one pad on the upper right side of the patient's chest, just below the collarbone. Ensure that the pad is centered and aligned properly.
6. Place the second pad on the lower left side of the patient's chest, just below the armpit. Again, ensure that the pad is centered and aligned properly.
7. Press firmly on the pads to ensure good contact with the patient's skin. The polymer adhesive gels on the pads provide outstanding contact and help distribute the current effectively during defibrillation and pacing.
8. Connect the lead wires of the defibrillator pads to your device according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure the connections are secure.
9. Once the pads are properly applied and connected, follow the instructions on your defibrillator device to deliver the appropriate treatment.
