To use the MACHEREY-NAGEL QUANTOFIX Calcium Test Tube, follow these steps:
1. Rinse the measuring vessel with the test solution and fill it up to the 5 mL mark.
2. Dip the test strip into the test solution for 1 second.
3. Shake off any excess liquid.
4. Place the test strip aside with the test field facing upwards.
5. Add 1 measuring spoon of Ca2+-1 reagent to the sample.
6. Shake the sample carefully.
7. Add 10 drops of Ca2+-2 reagent to the sample.
8. Shake the sample carefully.
9. Pick up the test strip again.
10. Dip the test strip again into the test solution for 45 seconds.
11. Shake off any excess liquid.
12. Compare the color of the test strip with the color scale provided.
Please note that it is important to follow the safety precautions mentioned in the manual. The reagents used in the test tube can cause severe skin burns and eye damage. Wear protective gloves and eye protection, and avoid breathing in the vapors. In case of ingestion, rinse the mouth and do not induce vomiting. If the reagents come in contact with the skin or hair, remove contaminated clothing and rinse the affected area with water. If inhaled, move to fresh air and keep at rest. If the reagents come in contact with the eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes and remove contact lenses if present.
