To clean the Salton JK2073 Stainless Steel Digital Kettle, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the kettle from the wall outlet and allow it to cool.
2. Empty the kettle of any remaining water.
3. Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the kettle or power base in water or any other liquid.
4. For descaling, under normal use, scale build-up will form on the inside of the kettle and coat the stainless steel plate. To remove scale, boil equal parts of white vinegar and water (500ml/2 cups of each is recommended). Allow the mixture to stand for several hours or overnight. Then, empty the mixture and fill the kettle to the maximum fill line with fresh water. Bring the water to a boil and discard. For heavy scale build-up, use pure vinegar and let it stand overnight. Empty out the vinegar and fill the kettle to the maximum fill line with fresh water. Bring the water to a boil and discard. This descaling process should be repeated periodically.
5. After cleaning, dry the exterior of the kettle thoroughly before use.
