To install the Honeywell GlideLoc Vertical Height Access Ladder System Kit, follow these steps:
1. Carefully inspect all components of the system before installation to ensure there are no damaged or missing parts.
2. Make sure the structure and ladder on which the system will be affixed are capable of withstanding the potential loads that may be applied in the event of a fall arrest. The ladder must meet the specified requirements, including rung diameter and spacing.
3. Clean the guide rail sections before installing to remove any dirt or debris.
4. Install the bottom guide rail section by placing it against the ladder rungs at the desired height. Use rung clamps to secure the guide rail to the ladder rungs. Make sure the arrow stamping on the guide rail points upwards and the front of the guide rail faces outwards on the front of the ladder.
5. Install additional guide rail sections by inserting them vertically into the previously fixed guide rail sections. Use rail connectors and rung clamps to secure the sections together. Torque the fasteners to the specified torque value.
6. Install the end stop at the bottom of the rail system to prevent incorrect insertion of the fall arrester and unintended disengagement. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper mounting.
7. Install the top guide rail section, ensuring it meets the specified requirements. Use rung clamps to secure the top guide rail section to the ladder rungs. Install the end stop at the top of the rail system to prevent disengagement of the fall arrester.
8. Install the fall arrester according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure that the safety pin or locking pin is in the correct position to prevent incorrect insertion and disengagement.
9. Don a Miller full-body harness and attach the fall arrester to the front attachment point designated for ladder climbing using the auto-locking carabiner. Verify that the carabiner keeper/gate is closed and locked.
10. Safely ascend and descend the ladder while using the GlideLoc Vertical Height Access Ladder System Kit.
Note: It is important to read and understand all instructions and warnings provided with the system and fall arrester before installation and use. Regular inspection and maintenance of the system and fall arrester are necessary to ensure their proper functioning and safety.
