To install and connect the mXion DLM Temperature Module, please follow the instructions provided in the manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Read the manual and warning notes thoroughly before proceeding with the installation and operation of the device.
2. Ensure that the outputs are set to the appropriate value before connecting any other device. Failure to do so may result in damage for which we cannot be held responsible.
3. Place the module in a protected location where it will not be exposed to moisture.
4. Make sure your device is programmed with the latest firmware to access all available functions. Some functions may only be available with the latest firmware.
5. Check the scope of supply to ensure you have all the necessary components, including the manual, mXion DLM, LDR, and a 10µF capacitor (fast up to slow).
6. Install the device according to the connecting diagrams provided in the manual. The device is protected against shorts and excessive loads, but if there is a connection error such as a short circuit, this safety feature will not work, and the device may be destroyed. Avoid any short circuits caused by mounting screws or metal.
7. Connect the appropriate connectors on the upper surface of the module.
8. The mXion DLM is a versatile module that functions as a brightness dimmer. It allows you to control the brightness of the connected consumer either with the brightness (the brighter, the faster/lighter the consumer) or against the brightness (the brighter, the slower/darker the consumer).
9. If you want to use the module without an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), there will always be full power supply at the outputs. In this mode, you can use the potentiometer to set the clock speed. To achieve even slower cycles, such as for a railroad crossing light, you can use the enclosed capacitor. Connect the capacitor in the fitting, observing the polarity. The capacitor has a white line marked on it, indicating the pole to which it should be connected.
10. The mXion DLM can be used in various applications, such as controlling the speed or brightness of an engine or lighting dependent on ambient lighting, railroad crossing lights, strobe lights, fan control, motor control, clock, and clock source.
11. The technical data of the mXion DLM includes power supply requirements of 7-35V DC/DCC or 5-25V AC, current range of 30-120mA (without functions), maximum function current of 3.5Amps for both A1 and A2 outputs, and a temperature range of -20°C to 100°C. The dimensions of the module are 5.5cm (length) x 5cm (width) x 2cm (height).
Please refer to the manual for further details and specific instructions related to your application. If you have any technical support or schematic-related questions, you can contact micron-dynamics through their provided email addresses or visit their website for additional resources.
