To frame the opening for the fan in Charley's Powered Ventilation System, it should be square and 1/2" larger than the fan size. For example, if you have a 10" fan, the rough opening should be 10½" x 10½".
Similarly, for the intake shutters, the frame opening should also be square and 1/2" larger than the shutter size. For a 10" shutter, the rough opening should be 10½" x 10½". Optional shutter locations are shown with an asterisk (*).
If you require trim and finish work around the fan or shutter, then the frame opening should be 3½" larger than the fan or shutter size.
