To connect the Lightweight Hydrogen Regulator to the hydrogen cylinder, follow these steps:
1. Inspect the cylinder and regulator for any physical damage or debris. If any damage or debris is visible, reject the components.
2. Check the mating threads of the cylinder and regulator for damage or debris. If any damage or debris is visible, reject the components.
3. Carefully thread the regulator assembly into the cylinder by hand.
4. Tighten the regulator until it is mated flush to the neck of the cylinder.
5. Once the regulator is flush, apply a maximum torque of 58Nm (42.8ft.lb).
6. Conduct a leak check on the completed assembly before operation.
7. Prior to operation, the cylinder will need to be purged to remove air impurities. Contact Intelligent Energy for further information.
Please note that only qualified technicians trained in high pressure and flammable gases should carry out the fitting of regulators and filling of cylinders, in accordance with local laws and Health and Safety (H&S) regulations.
