To install the Light Efficient Design LED-8929 HAZ Series 24W Post Top Light, follow these steps:
1. Before installation, make sure to read the entire instruction manual and ensure that you have the necessary knowledge and qualifications for the installation. If you are not qualified, contact a qualified electrician.
2. Ensure that the luminaire you are retrofitting has the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings, and that the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
3. Do not make or alter any open holes in the enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
4. To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
5. Make all electrical connections according to national and local codes.
6. Instead of disconnecting existing wires from lampholder terminals to make new connections at lampholder terminals, cut the existing lampholder lead away from the lampholder and make new electrical connections to lampholder lead wires using applicable connectors.
7. This retrofit kit is accepted as a component of a luminaire, and the suitability of the combination should be determined by authorities having jurisdiction.
8. The input rating of the Light Efficient Design LED-8929 HAZ Series 24W Post Top Light is as follows:
- Voltage: 120-277 VAC or 347VAC for C-HAZ
- Frequency: 50/60Hz
- Wattage: 24W
9. The kit includes the LED lamp, label for modified luminaire, instructions, and wire connectors (2).
10. Refer to the Luminaire Fittings Reference Table in the manual to determine the appropriate page number for the specific luminaire fitting you are retrofitting.
11. Follow the instructions provided for the specific luminaire fitting to complete the retrofitting process. Each fitting may have slightly different steps, tools needed, and retrofit kit selection.
12. After completing the wiring and retrofitting process, proceed with the lamp installation. Remove the optical assembly covering the lamp, remove the old lamp, firmly tighten the LED lamp enough to depress the center contact of the lamp holder, replace the optical assembly, and apply the silver adhesive label over the current label on the luminaire.
13. Finally, reconnect the electrical power to the luminaire at the supply source.
