To install the NICOR DLR565SYS083KWH White Recessed LED Downlight System, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to turn off the power to the circuit you will be working on. This is important for safety.
2. Carefully unpack the recessed frame from its packaging and inspect it for any shipping defects.
3. Adjust the length of the hangar bars if necessary. Separate the bars and snap them to the desired length at the score marks. Then, reassemble them.
4. Position the frame between the joists, ensuring that the hangar bars are in the correct position. The bottom edge of the hangar bars should be level with the bottom of the joists.
5. Starting with the swivel foot end of the hangar bar, secure the hangar bars to the joists using the provided captive nails.
6. Lift and secure the opposite side of the frame to the ceiling joist.
7. Position the frame in the desired place on the hangar bars and tighten the set xxxx to lock the frame in place.
8. Connect the building power to the frame junction box. Use the provided quick connectors to connect the black wire to black and the white wire to white. Connect the bare copper wire to the ground wire of the power source.
9. Carefully unpack the DLR56V5 downlight from its packaging and inspect it for any shipping defects.
10. If you are using an optional colored trim, align the trim onto the downlight and secure it by bending over the tabs.
11. Join the DLR's female quick connector to the frame's male quick connector.
12. Align the tabs of the frame cap to the depressions on the DLR and snap the cap in place, making sure no wiring is pinched.
13. Squeeze the torsion springs together and install them into the torsion spring brackets inside the frame.
14. Carefully push the downlight upwards, making sure it is flush to the ceiling surface.
15. Once properly installed, you will have a fully functional recessed LED downlight system.
