To install the Elkay 570B-1 Outdoor Standard PIR Timer, please follow these steps:
1. Use the back box supplied with the timer. Failure to use the back box will invalidate the warranty.
2. Take the surface mount box and remove knockouts as required. It is recommended to use a hole saw for a clean effect and remove any burrs. Drill a small 3mm drain hole at the back of the box in the position marked 'DRAIN'.
3. Mount the surface mount box on a secure surface using the mounting pack supplied. Place the xxxx cover seal over the rear mounting screws after screwing the box to the wall.
4. Ensure the correct IP66 rated connections are made to maintain the IP66 rating of the back box. Use a suitable M20 cable gland and appropriate sealing washers for connections. For steel wired armoured connections, use a nylon 20mm seal.
5. Prior to fitting, switch off the mains power and identify the live in, live out, and neutral wires.
6. Securely fit the live in, live out, and neutral wires into the terminals marked Lin, Lout, and N.
7. Turn the mains power on.
8. To test the PIR timer, leave the area, and the load will switch off in approximately 60 seconds if no movement or external sources are detected.
9. To test the timer, re-enter the area, and the PIR Timer will detect movement and trigger the load on.
10. Select the desired time delay using the Timing Diagram and adjust the lux level pot to the desired ambient light level.
11. Ensure the timer is securely attached to the back box.
12. Do not press the PIR dome for any reason.
Please note that all wiring should be carried out by a competent person following IEE wiring regulations BS 7671. The circuit should be isolated before carrying out any work. Failure to adhere to the instructions will invalidate the warranty.
