To install the antaira LMX-2602G-SFP Series 26 Port Industrial Rackmount Gigabit Managed Ethernet Switch, follow these steps:
1. Check the package contents: Make sure you have the quick installation guide, the LMX-2602G-SFP(-T) switch, RJ45 dust cover set, rack-mounting brackets and screws, and the RJ45 to DB9 serial console cable.
2. Familiarize yourself with the front and back panel layout of the switch. The front panel has LED indicators for power, fault, master, ring, LAN ports, combo ports, and SFP ports. The back panel has one AC power input socket and one 2-pin removal terminal block for relay output.
3. Connect Ethernet ports: The RJ45 ports on the switch support auto MDI/MDI-X function. Use the provided RJ45 Ethernet port pin outs to correctly wire the Ethernet ports.
4. Connect SFP slots: The switch has two SFP slots for optical transceivers. Insert the SFP transceiver module into the SFP slot, ensuring the triangle mark is at the bottom. Then, insert the fiber cable of the LC connector into the transceiver.
5. Power input wiring: Put the power switch into the off position. Insert the AC power cable into the universal AC socket. Switch the power switch to power on.
6. Industrial switch mounting: The switch comes with a rack-mounted kit for installation in a standard 19-inch rack. Attach the mounting plates to the sides of the switch and secure them with screws. Position the switch in the rack and secure it with rack-mounting screws.
7. Ensure proper ventilation: Leave at least 4 inches of clearance on the front and 3.4 inches on the back of the switch for proper ventilation, especially in enclosed rack installations.
