Before applying RUST-OLEUM 1 qt. Dark Gray Cabinet Paint, it is important to properly prepare the surface. The surface must be free of any dust, grease, oil, stains, rust, wax, or any other substances. To ensure proper adhesion, thoroughly scrub the cabinet and trim surfaces with a degreaser and prime the surfaces prior to application of the cabinet and trim paint. It is recommended to use Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3® Primer or B-I-N® Primer-Sealer to improve adhesion and help hide stains or tannin bleed that may occur. Priming is especially important on bare wood cabinet surfaces or when painting over dark colors.
