To install the NICOR DLR56v5 System LED Downlight System, follow these steps:
1. Carefully unpack the frame and downlight from their packaging and inspect them for any defects due to shipping.
2. Adjust the hangar bar length, if necessary, by separating the bars, snapping them to the desired length at the score marks, and reassembling them.
3. Position the frame between the joists, ensuring that the hangar bars are in the correct position. The bottom edge of the hangar bars should be level with the bottom of the joists.
4. Starting with the swivel foot end of the hangar bar, secure the hangar bars to the joists using the captive nails provided.
5. Lift and secure the opposite side of the frame to the ceiling joist. Position the frame in the desired place on the hangar bars and tighten the set xxxx to lock the frame in place.
6. Connect the building power to the frame junction box. Connect the black wire to black, the white wire to white, and the bare copper wire to the ground wire of the power source using the provided quick connectors.
7. Carefully unpack the downlight from its packaging and inspect it for any defects.
8. If using optional colored trim, align the trim onto the downlight and secure it by bending over the tabs.
9. Join the DLR's female quick connector to the frame's male quick connector.
10. Align the tabs of the frame cap to the depressions on the DLR and snap the cap in place, making sure no wiring is pinched.
11. Squeeze the torsion springs together and install them into the torsion spring brackets inside the frame.
12. Carefully push the downlight upwards, making sure it is flush to the ceiling surface.
