To install the RYOBI ACRM018 Bagging Kit with Boost on your zero-turn mower, follow these steps:
1. Remove the cutting deck from your mower if desired. Stop the motor, remove the start key, and set the parking brake. Disconnect the cables that connect the cutting deck to the mower. Lower the cutting deck to its lowest position. Remove the 4 hitch pins and washers that secure the cutting deck in place. Slide the deck out from under the mower. Reverse the process to reattach the cutting deck to the mower.
2. Install the bagging blades. Make sure the blade is not engaged. Stop the motor, remove the start key, and set the parking brake. Raise the height of the cutting deck to its highest position. Wedge a block of wood between the blade and the mower deck to prevent the blade from turning. Loosen the blade nut by turning it counterclockwise using a 15 mm wrench or socket. Remove the blade nut, spring washer, and blade. Place the new blade on the shaft against the corresponding blade posts. Ensure the blade is properly seated with the shaft going through the center blade hole and the two blade posts inserted into their respective holes on the blade. Replace the spring washer. Thread the blade nut on the shaft and finger tighten. Torque the blade nut down clockwise using a torque wrench to ensure the bolt is properly tightened. Repeat with the second blade.
3. Assemble the bagger frame. Press the button located on the bottom of the right, rear side panel and pull the panel outward and up to remove it from the lawnmower's body. Insert the front bagger bracket into the hole on the rear of the mower. Install the nut to steady the bracket. Install the left and right lower supports, as well as the upper bag supports. Align the upper bag supports and the lower rear support so the assembly slides onto both the front bagger bracket and lower bag supports at the same time. Ensure the buttons release into the holes in the supports to lock securely.
4. Assemble the gate lever support and gate. Install the connector plate for the lever support onto the gate release lever. Insert the bolts through the top plate, through the support, and out through the bottom plate. Install the nuts onto the bolts and tighten securely. Position the Y supports to the outside of the gate and attach them using bolts, washers, and acorn nuts. Attach the gate lever support to the top of the Y supports.
5. Install the grass bag. Remove the nut from the bottom of the frame assembly and lift it from the lawnmower. Unfold the grass bag and place it over the frame assembly. Fasten the clips around the frame to secure the grass bag. Adjust the hook and loop straps to ensure they are closed around the frame assembly mounting bracket.
6. Install the gate assembly. Place the completed gate assembly on a flat, level surface. Position the grass bag assembly over the gate. Insert a bolt through a sleeve and slide it through the gate assembly, washer, and top hole of the tab on the frame. Install the nut and tighten it securely. Repeat for the other side.
7. Install the bagging assembly. Lift the bag assembly and align the bolt of the frame to the hole on the bagger bracket on the back of the lawnmower. Install the nut and tighten it securely. Connect the quick connector cable from the lower tube to the boost connector port.
Once the bagging kit is installed, you can use it to collect leaves and grass clippings from your lawn. Make sure to empty the grass bag when it is full and perform regular maintenance as outlined in the manual to ensure optimal performance and safety.
